The Seggio of Teggiano, originally located in the portico of the church of the Corpo di Cristo and which collapsed during the earthquake of 1857, has been known since the 15th century. In fact, historiography recalls an inscription bearing the date of its construction, 1472, and the name of its creator, Iacobello de Babino, who also built the church of the Pietà in Teggiano.
The current Sedile was reconstructed on the same area after 1884 and takes the form of a loggia with three arches, surmounted by a triangular tympanum in the center of which stands the coat of arms of the city of Teggiano.
