Pietà

The fifteenth-century lunette of the church

The stone relief depicting the Pietà is placed inside the lunette of the portal, with the date "1476" engraved on the architrave.

The work has been assigned to various masters, starting from Francesco da Sicignano and Francesco de Apice, up to the most recent hypothesis of attributing it to the "magister" Angelo de Mingo, who was among the personalities involved in the fifteenth-century works of the church and who has been identified as responsible for the sculptural part of the project.
